Hatter thought he was terribly slick.
This year, he had read up on how Christmas is spent in Alices world, and he was prepared for this one. He was especially intrigued by this plant called Mistletoe and its powers to cause people to kiss. It was this morsel of information that formulated a whole plan in his head, and nothing was going to stop him from his scheme. He was going to get a Christmas kiss from Alice if it took him until Christmas morning!!
He had every detail down and memorized by heart. He spent a day designing and planning a new hat and constructing it embellishing it and then reveling in its glory. At last he was ready and placed it on his head. It wasnt a far cry from his usual top hat, but it was extremely Christmasified. Even the small details were worked out, from the scarlet and evergreen hatband and the holly leaf pin right to the finishing touch, which was a noticeable sprig of mistletoe that precariously hung off the brim.
The Night Before Christmas...Twas the night before Christmas and in any house
Not a creature was stirring, not even Dormouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
And even some socks, as urged on by the Hare.
The Wonderlandians were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of teapots danced in their heads.
And the Queen in her red robe, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winters nap.
When in the Palace Garden there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed, thinking it might be the Hatter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the curtains and threw up the sash.
The moon reflected off some new-fallen snow
The Queen I was ready to awaken and show!
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.
With a little old driver, dressed all in a red
That rivaled the Queens, and I watched in mere dread.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
Tea Quiero:2:ReflectionsChapter Two:
Alice paced her bedroom, which over the years had become less girly than it was a decade previously. The mirror, having been stored away, had been replaced by a tower of CDs and a guitar case. Stopping by her desk, Alice hesitated a moment and bit her lip before reaching for the cell phone charging on a stack of books on her desk. Alice unplugged it gingerly and plopped onto her bed. As if she could read Alices mind, Dinah trotted in and jumped into Alices lap. Not far behind were Dinahs kittens, Kitt and Snowdrop. Kitt was as black as newly paved streets, and Snowdrop was exactly opposite, like powdered snow. Alice loved them both. The black one was a mischievous little thing, and Alice couldnt help but laugh as Kitt crawled on top of Snowdrop trying unsuccessfully to get on Alices bed.
Cmon, Kitt. That isnt very nice, Alice scolded. She scooped both kittens up tenderly and placed them next to her.
